There are exceptions though and Benchmark Wines prides itself in offering the best efforts of some of Australia’s fine wine makers and producers. Fine wines in Singapore is term that is often thrown around without caution or care and rarely is the term Australian included. Benchmark Wines begs to differ; many of the worlds most renowned winemakers are making wine in Australia backed up by years of experience in making wine in Europe and the USA in between vintages.

90+pts – Robert Parker – “The Wine Advocate”
Established in 1979, Green Valley is one of the original Margaret River Vineyards. The 30+ year mature vines produce a wonderfully balanced wine with the Margaret River’s signature Cabernet character.
“Deep garnet in color, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is scented of crème de cassis, ripe plums & blackberry preserves with hints of mocha & cloves. Ripe, richly fruited & medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has firm, finely grained tannins & great length.”– Robert Parker
The blend combines the world renowned characteristics of vibrant young Hunter Semillon with lively Sauvignon Blanc & is best described as a ‘user-friendly’.
Ripe passionfruit aromas on the nose are balanced by citrus & tropical flavors of Hunter Semillon on the palate. Crisp refreshing flavors & only 10.5% alcohol – this is a perfect wine for the Singapore climate.
Oliverhill ‘Clarendon’ Shiraz 2006
Wow. Grapes are harvested for a single vineyard at 300 meters above McLaren Vale. The cooler and more gentle climate has produced a soft and alluring wine that needs to be tasted to be understood. The generosity of a full-blown Barossa Shiraz with the delicacy of a Victorian cool-climate Shiraz. Your favorite Italian meal or grilled meat will set this wine on a new course of greatness. Soft, dusty tannins support a frame of pure fruit without overpowering the DNA of the wine. Under screwcap and promising 8 – 15 years of further aging potential. Drink now or hold if you are able to resist temptation.
Wanderer is made using a few different vintages of Petit Verdot, a grape variety which hails originally from Bordeaux. This allows us to create a blend with complexity and freshness.
‘Wanderer’ is an elegant yet full bodied sparkling red made using our own home-grown organic Petit Verdot. It has a vibrant bright purple colour, with a nose ripe with blueberries, plum, black cherry and a hint of violets. It is perfect as an aperitif or can enjoyed with a variety of food. Serve chilled.
Pinot Gris is increasing in popularity and we believe it’s a variety well suited to one of McLaren Vale’s coolest sites – Paxton’s Thomas Block. The Paxton Pinot Gris is a crisp and fresh style that also captures the interesting characters and essence of the variety.
The 2020 vintage is the 13th release of this single-vineyard wine and displays fruit freshness and structure highlighting the suitability of this site for the production of premium white varieties.
A delicious Pinot Gris from one of Australia’s most respected wine growers – David Paxton. Paxton’s organic wines are produced on Biodynamic principles without the use of synthetic fertilisers or pesticides with a focus on promoting healthy, living soils.
At the risk of incurring the wrath of the Gods, we do make seem to make lovely Cabernet here at Bosworth, and this Cockscomb is no exception. McLaren Vale makes great Cabernets, in fact – we always seem to get nice ripe tannins and herbal intrigue without the greenness The nose is bright and fresh and bursting with blue fruits (violets and red currants ) and the wine has terrific tannins (without being too stiff) and a lovely, persistent finish. All in all a great example of a Cabernet.
Paxton’s vineyards comprise of six Biodynamic properties. MV ‘McLaren Vale’ or ‘Multiple Vineyard’ Shiraz is a blend of 100% Shiraz from four of the Paxton vineyards, and has been developed to highlight optimum fruit flavours.
The MV displays the hallmarks of classic McLaren Vale Shiraz – elegance, balance and pleasure in a bottle. This wine gives the best of both worlds: a fantastic wine when young, but careful cellaring for 10-15 years will reward you very nicely.
There are beautiful ripe red fruits on the nose – think plums & strawberries along with a light, alluring spice. The Bosworth Pinot Noir is a middle weight wine with red fruit running through the palate & framed within lovely tannins. This wine goes very well with cheeses, chicken dishes & charcuterie.
