From the Premier Grand Cru Sauternes property of Chateau Guiraud, more well known for it’s outstanding dessert wines, G de Chateau Guiraud is produced from a 15 hectare parcel of vines on the estate especially dedicated to the production of this dry white wine. The vines are planted to a density of 6600 vines per hectare and to the proportion of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. The fruit is picked by hand at maximum ripeness. The wine is fermented in oak barrels previously used for the Grand Cru and maturation also takes place in oak barrels for up to 9 months, with regular stirring on the lees.
