“The 2014 Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses, from limestone soils, has a very terroir-driven, mineral-rich bouquet with delicate floral scents developing. The palate is crisp & linear, very well balanced and full of freshness. It exerts a gentle grip at the back of the mouth, the fruit merging red fruit with black on the finish. What a lovely Pernand-Vergelesses from Chandon de Briailles.” – Robert Parker
“This is also distinctly cool with its layered nose of restrained dark pinot fruit, earth & soft floral nuances. There is more volume & power to the slightly less refined flavors that possess excellent concentration before terminating in a mildly rustic but not really austere finish. This will need a few years of bottle age to completely flesh out but it should be drinking well after only 4 to 5 years of age.” – Burghound
