This is a remarkably good Chardonnay for the price, and I’ve been drinking white Burgundy and Australian Chards for some decades. The wine was a nice light gold colour. The nose had a lot of lemon sherbet, stone fruit, a touch of spicy oak and mineral characters. Palate is medium to full bodied, with lots of well balanced citrus, stone fruit and nutty oak. The oak is well balanced and not over-powering. There is considerable acidity and minerality which gives the wine length and a refreshing aftertaste. A lovely fruit driven chardonnay which suits the hot weather here in Singapore. Will look to buy more. It is to my palate better than the Hexham Vineyard wine from the same vintage, despite the higher price of the latter wine.
