Santa Rosa Ramoy, aka Blackjack, was an American sailor who jumped ship in Melbourne in the 1860s in search of fortune on the gold fields. This flagship wine, named in his honour, does his story proud. A heady introduction in plum, blackberry, vanilla and dried herbs shows the great Aussie grape duo in full, delicious flight. Built for the cellar, the French oak is not shy, but it does fit well, an amply suitable partner for the generosity of fruit and tannin.
